1. About these Terms
These Terms govern your access to and use of MakeHalftone at makehalftone.com, including its browser tools, information and downloadable outputs. In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the operator of the site. By using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
2. The service
MakeHalftone is a free browser-based image tool for creating halftone previews and PNG or SVG exports. The core generator runs locally in your browser and does not require an account. The site does not currently offer a paid product under these Terms.
3. Permission to use the site
We give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable permission to use the site for lawful personal or business purposes, subject to these Terms. You may download or export material that the site expressly makes available for that purpose.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use the site to break the law, infringe another person’s rights, introduce malicious code, interfere with the site or other users, bypass security or access controls, or falsely suggest that we endorse you or your work. You must not use automated requests in a way that damages, overloads or materially disrupts the site.
5. Your images and outputs
You retain any rights you already have in images or other material you use with the tool. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to use that material and for checking the accuracy and suitability of every result before relying on it. We do not obtain ownership of your material merely because you use the tool.
6. Site materials
The site’s own code, copy, design and branding are protected by applicable laws and may be owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of those materials to you. Material belonging to third parties remains subject to its owners’ rights.
7. Privacy and external links
Our Privacy Policy explains how the site handles information. Links to external websites are provided for convenience; their own terms and privacy policies apply.
8. Availability and changes
We may maintain, change, suspend or discontinue all or part of the site. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, permanent storage, or that every browser, device or exported file will work in every environment. Save any output you need.
9. Production checks
A screen preview or downloaded file does not guarantee a particular printed, engraved, cut or manufactured result. Output depends on source quality, scale, substrate, colour management, printer or machine settings and production method. Inspect the export and run an appropriate proof before production.
10. Refunds
The current site is free and does not accept paid orders under these Terms, so there is no payment to refund. If a paid offer is introduced in the future, its price, delivery terms and refund rules will be disclosed before purchase.
11. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not give warranties about uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or the accuracy of user-dependent outputs. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or loss caused by relying on an output without carrying out the checks appropriate to your situation. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not allow that exclusion or limitation.
13. Ending use
You may stop using the site at any time. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the site, comply with law, or respond to misuse of the site or a breach of these Terms.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the site or applicable requirements change. The current version and effective date will be published on this page. Your continued use after an update means the updated Terms apply from that point.
